UAE leave salary calculator
What your unused annual leave is worth when you leave — paid on your basic wage.
How leave encashment works (Article 29)
You're entitled to 30 calendar days of paid annual leave a year once you've completed a year of service (two working days a month between six and twelve months). Any of that leave you don't take isn't lost — when you leave, it's paid out.
The important detail: leave encashment on exit is calculated on your basic wage, not your full package. Your daily rate is basic salary divided by 30, and your payout is that daily rate times the number of unused days. So on AED 12,000 basic with 15 unused days: AED 400 a day × 15 = AED 6,000.
This is one piece of a final settlement. Your gratuity, any pay in lieu of notice, and outstanding salary are separate — the gratuity calculator covers the largest piece.
Based on Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, Article 29 — last verified 14 June 2026.
Questions people ask
Is leave salary paid on basic or full wage?
When you encash unused annual leave on leaving a job, it's calculated on your basic wage only. (Pay during leave you actually take uses your full wage — but that's a different situation.)
How much annual leave do I accrue?
30 calendar days a year once you've completed a year of service, accruing pro-rata. Between six months and a year, it's two working days per month.
What if I took some of my leave?
Only the days you didn't use are encashed. Enter your remaining unused days — your accrued entitlement minus the days you already took.
Does unused leave expire when I leave?
No. The law entitles you to be paid for leave you didn't use, however long the period, calculated on your basic wage.
